14th Wednesday out of 52 - I DO remember this morning... it was more like NIGHT!  So dark, so gloomy.  I wonder if anyone is keeping track of these gloomy Wednesdays.  There should be some money back on the year with these dark days.

Lucky Thirteen

We're up to week 13. Lucky? You bet! I count all my days as lucky days!

Interesting shadows- and what's blocking the light on the bottom of the house?  I guess the sun is lower in the sky this AM.  It's been a while since we've seen it (the sun, that is). Sky's clouding up ... or maybe UNclouding up-  I really can't recall how the day ended.

I was very happy with the morning, so again, I took a few extra photos.  The first just has that ugly lower blockage removed...

The second extra one is FROM THE OTHER SIDE!  See how it's much more fabulous through that rabbit hole?  Or.. is it looking back that gives that feeling?  Something to think about.  Just a case of the grass being greener on the other side... you decide.

NUMBER 12 - AND Mom's B'day AND a vacation day!

It's the annual trek to NYC!!  On our way to see Godspell... in the gloomiest of Wednesdays yet!  (record rain fell in the city today... and we trudged around for hours and hours)... so no photo of ODG or the yellow house!  Also happens to be mom's b'day and Pearl Harbor Day 2011.

ELEVEN ALIVE

Eleven Alive... I guess that stealing-  it's from WPIX a LONG TIME AGO, but it's in my head now.

FINALLY, a Wednesday without gloom!  I love the shadow on the building today.  That's about all there is to note, there are no scary window figures, really.  It's still a yellow house.  End of November -  11/30/11

TEN TEN TEN.... a nice ROUND 10

Well.. a straight and a round.

SO.  It's raining AGAIN!?!  Gloomy once-again Wednesday.  Not much has changed-  no light to compare.  So #10 is done and done.

OOOH... but good to mention that it's two days after my youngest sister turned FIFTY.  Just a note...
ya know?

Ok. 9... but I'm so far behind

So this is the photo from the 9th Wednesday... that makes it from November 16, 2011.  I TAKE the photos on the proper day, but fail to POST.   I guess I'm already bored, but when all is said and done, the phone pix SHOULD be interesting to follow over the course of 52 Wednesdays!

So... here's NUMBER 9.

8 = two months... ALREADY?

So this is the first Wednesday after the "spring ahead, fall back" weekend.

It certainly is BRIGHTER.. the whole house is illuminated and it's only 7:40am.  Ok.. so now it's boring... we need snow or a raccoon or something to make this blog interesting again!   Here's the photo-  YOU make it interesting!  Wait! Who's in that top floor window?  I'd tell you, but it's time for Jeopardy.

wednesday number 7

Not much to look at today-  but I did notice the LACK of leaves... oh fall.

Already the 6th Wednesday!

It's already the sixth Wednesday and I'm almost caught up!  I tend to start like gangbusters with an idea then it sits in my brain.  It's also a royal pain to get the teeny, tiny card out of the phone, find the card holder and THEN get the photos... just seemed easier to let the photos sit for a bit.  But now I'm right on track.

Amazing that in only 6 weeks the sun can change position so drastically!  Remember when the sun was reflecting off that window between the trunks of  Old' Dead Guy? Now it's right above the rabbit hole!  I walk through at about the same time every Wednesday... so this is really telling.  Somebody is moving ... I think it's Earth!

FIVE FIVE FIVE of 52 ~ October 19, 2011

Another dark and stormy morning. Notice the bright part of the dull day has NOT been deployed but dark and dreary appear to rule.  What to do to MAKE it a spiffy day?

The answer to that question is to TAKE ANOTHER PHOTO!  I started into the rabbit hole and turned to see something out of Oz... I know I know WRONG STORY... but look at it.  If it had apples, it would have thrown them at me... whatever... it made me smile!

Fourth Wednesday ~ October 12, 2011

So I'm guessing that even if no one reads this or views my photos, it will serve as a reminder of a year in the life of ME.  Well, at least a year's worth of Wednesdays!

This photo is a tad blurry- except for the most important thing in the viewfinder- the color, the edge of the explanation of the day... you'll see it... just take a look!

When the weather hands you lemons, open a colorful umbrella?  Or something along those lines.

Number ahhh THREE October 5, 2011

So.. what's new you ask?  I ask it too- but there's something about change or the absence of change... I remember reading about the reason museums bring comfort to some... it's that UNchangedNESS they possess.  Can you picture the Blue Whale at the Museum of Natural History?  How bout those life-sized dioramas with the animals?  I saw them when I was 10, I saw them when I was 40- they never changed. It's like a good recipe.. maybe one mom used to make.  No matter how many recipes you try, there's nothing like mom's.  So change CAN be a good thing, but no change is a comfort.

#2 Ah. The Rabbit Hole! September 28, 2011

This is the rabbit hole that leads to the next block.. and eventually to work on Wednesdays.

In mid-summer this is a feast for the senses but by the end of September, it starts to thin out and lose the  summer smell of honeysuckle.  Imagine getting to work after passing through this!  Makes for a happy Wednesday.  Picture it, you know you can!

And on this particular Wednesday, I took a second photo.. one of "old dead guy"  I think the Grinch (the cartoon Grinch, NOT the other one , yech) could have used either of the top portions of ODG for his dogdeer antlers!  Just love this old guy.

The First One 9/21/11

Looking up... ah. the blue sky, the reflection of the sun sparkling right between the split trunk of "ole dead guy"... it's such a view! ... I know... YAWN, but take time to find the beauty in everyday things!

The rabbit hole is not in this shot, but it will be someday soon.

52 Wednesdays.. or there abouts

Every Wednesday I walk through Alice's rabbit hole to get to work.  There's not much to look at, but SO MUCH to see!  I've decided to document this wonderful walk with a cell phone photo array of 52 Wednesdays.


I enjoy what I see-  it makes my day happy!  It's boring, it's simple, but it's the kick off to my day.
